Effectiveness of Human Resource Policies and Practices in Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Limited Ariyalur District
Human Resource Management (HRM) practices play a significant role in improving employee performance, organizational effectiveness, and overall industrial growth. The present study titled “Effectiveness of Human Resource Policies and Practices in Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Limited” aims to examine the effectiveness of various HR policies and practices implemented in the organization. The study focuses on major HR functions such as recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation management, employee welfare measures, performance appraisal, grievance handling, and employee motivation. The research is based on both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected from employees of Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Limited through a structured questionnaire, while secondary data were gathered from company reports, journals, books, and official records. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study, and suitable statistical tools such as percentage analysis, mean score analysis, and chi-square tests were used for interpretation of data. The findings of the study indicate that the organization has implemented several effective HR policies that contribute positively to employee satisfaction and organizational productivity. Employees expressed satisfaction with welfare measures, workplace safety, and training programs, whereas certain areas such as promotional opportunities and communication between management and employees require further improvement. The study concludes that effective HRM practices are essential for maintaining a motivated workforce and achieving organizational objectives in the cement industry. The research also offers suggestions for enhancing employee engagement, strengthening performance evaluation systems, and improving overall HR effectiveness within the organization.
