Impact of Employee Satisfaction and Development Opportunities on Retention and Attraction in Mumbai's Healthcare Sector
This study explored the role of employee satisfaction and development opportunities in healthcare professionals' turnover and recruitment in Mumbai. Data was collected using a descriptive and analytical research design and a stratified random sample of 400 healthcare workers (physicians, nurses, technologists and allied workers). The study measured the level of influence talent‑management practices had on job satisfaction and career development on employees' desire to stay in the organisation and the organisation's ability to attract talent. The results showed that employee satisfaction and employee perception of development opportunities had a positive impact on both retention and attraction outcomes, and that development opportunities had a strong positive impact on attraction outcomes. The results corroborate the existing literature that reiterated the significance of enabling human-resource practices that foster stability and growth of the workforce. In conclusion, the study underscores the critical need for healthcare organizations to invest in their workforce's development and satisfaction through employee‑centred strategies, thereby ensuring the creation of resilient and competitive healthcare teams in dynamic environments.
